Waterfront Residence:
Quincy, MA

The Owner's Goal was to create a new accessible entry with two covered stairs. In order to get to the solution, the existing building was modeled in CAD, and the new wall, walkway, stairs, ramp, and roof structures were added and modified until the Owner selected the version below. A key assumption in the solution is that the sitework must be completed in such a manner that the elevation of the walkway above the ground does not exceed thirty inches; otherwise, a code-compliant guard would be necessary.
